The birds are from Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa and other parts of the world can be found in Bali Bird Park. Encompassing two hectares of botanical landscape, the park provides sanctuary to almost 1000 birds of 250 different species. The park accommodates an amazing display of flora with more then 2000 tropical plants including 50 varieties of palms alone and attracting numerous butterflies. Bali Safari & Marine Park Bali Safari Marine Park is the latest creation from the operators of the world renowned Taman Safari Indonesia,a name known for more than 20 years for its creative, back to nature animal exhibits and incessant conservation work.Building upon the innovations of their existing parks at Bogor near Jakarta and Prigen near Surabaya, and using the latest in concepts in park design, Taman Safari Indonesia has exceeded all expectations with their newest park. Wanara Wana Forest (Monkey Forest – Ubud) Wanara Wana Forest or more popularly known as the monkey forest is located in between the villages of Nyuh Kuning and Padang Tegal in Ubud. The monkeys within the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal are commonly called long-tailed macaques. Their scientific name is Macaca fascicuiaris. Currently, there are approximately 340 (32 adult males, 19 male sub adult, 77 adult females, 122 juvenile and 54 infants) (according to year of 2007 monkey’s population data) Balinese long-tailed macaques that inhabit the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal. Being used to humans, the monkeys will frolic with each other and steal any food away from you, so be careful during your visit and watch out for your glasses, bag and camera. Tirta Empul Temple Tirta Empul is nestled in Tampak Siring Village, known as a holy geyser the water here is the original meaning of Tirta Empul. This place has 30 different functions : for cleansing the body, for removal of evil temptation, for cleaning objects, for ceremonies and rituals etc. Gunung Kawi Gunung Kawi is also located in Tampak Siring, 40 kilometers to the east of Denpasar City. Gunung Kawi means carving the mountain. It is the monument of King Udayana and his son. When you arrived at the area you will see the Vihara Buddhist monastery dating back to the ancient time 11th century. Goa Gajah Temple Goa Gajah Temple is located at Bedulu Village, 5 kilometers to the east of Ubud. In Goa Gajah Temple you will find the ruins of Balinese Palace Complex, complete with a huge cave of hermitage. The cave used to be a meditation site for Hindu and Buddhist monks dating bach to the 11th century. The frightening demon head was carved out of the cave’s rock face, while inside the cave a god statue with elephant head ‘Ganesha’ can be seen at west end and ‘Tri Lingga’ statue at the cave’s east end (the shape of cave is T shaped). Two bathing places at cave’s yard have six nymph statues, each holding a water fountain on its umbilicus as the symbol of the six holy rivers in India.
